Orchard Near the River Escape - Forestville Dog-Friendly Wine Country Cottage with Deck

Wake to dappled orchard light through the bedroom's sliding glass door, step onto the deck with coffee, and point the day toward Russian River Valley AVA tasting rooms or a float at Steelhead Beach Regional Park 1.2 miles down the road. This dog-friendly Forestville home sleeps 4 between a king bedroom and a bunk room with four twins, with two decks, AC, WiFi, and a gas grill out back.

Spend mornings with coffee on the front deck as birdsong fills the canopy, afternoons exploring Russian River Valley AVA wineries or wading at Steelhead Beach Regional Park (1.2 miles) and Mother's Beach (1.4 miles), and evenings grilling on the back deck before dinner under the trees. Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens sits 9.6 miles out, with the Charles M. Schulz Museum 13 miles east and Sonoma Coast State Park 20 miles west when the day calls for a drive.

Settle into the plush sofa under the ceiling fan, flatscreen on, board games and a small library stacked nearby for analog evenings. Sliding doors and big windows pull the orchard light inside.

Cook around the butcher-block island lit by red schoolhouse pendants, with four bar stools pulled up for prep-side conversation and stainless appliances handling the heavy lifting. Gather four more at the dining table just beyond, framed by windows looking into the trees.

OUTDOOR LIVING
Step onto the front deck for Adirondack chairs and a bistro table -- the quiet morning spot. Out back, claim the hanging egg chair or pour wine at the full-size dining table while the gas grill handles dinner, horizontal cable railings keeping the forest view wide open. Two of the sleeping spaces open directly onto the deck.
