Old River Hideaway - Guerneville Dog-Friendly Forest Hideaway near Downtown

Walk half a mile to downtown Guerneville's eclectic restaurants and Johnson's Beach from this dog-friendly home built in 2014 on Old River Road. Two bedrooms sleep 6, with mini-split AC in every room, multiple decks among the redwoods, and a gas grill for backyard dinners. Korbel Winery, Northwood Golf Course, and Armstrong Redwoods sit within three miles. Note: multiple stairs lead to the front door.

Spend mornings strolling half a mile to Coffee Bazaar and downtown Guerneville, afternoons floating the Russian River from Johnson's Beach or tasting at Korbel Winery two miles up the road, and evenings catching a pint at Stumptown Brewery three-quarters of a mile away. Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve and Northwood Golf Course are both an easy three-mile drive.

Sink into the sofa or loveseat in the open living room, where a wall-mounted flatscreen anchors movie nights and colorful artwork plays off the turquoise walls. Board games stack nearby for slower evenings in.

Cook on the gas range with stainless appliances at the ready, then pull up one of three stools at the peninsula so the chef stays in the conversation. Pendant lights warm the workspace while a window above the sink pulls forest light across the counters.

Retreat to the dining table for a long dinner with the day's bottles, the kitchen glowing just steps away.

OUTDOOR LIVING
Step onto the upper deck for morning coffee in the Adirondack chairs, with two cushioned loungers and a shade umbrella waiting once the sun climbs. Drop down to the lower deck to fire up the gas grill and settle into the wicker seating, wire-mesh railings keeping the evergreen canopy in full view. Kids claim the swing, slide, and play structure in the yard.
